“It's surely our responsibility to do everything within our power to create a planet that provides a home not just for us, but for all life on Earth.”- David Attenborough
We strive for pollinator-friendly cities. This is badly needed, since pollinators such as bees have a hard time surviving the expending urban areas. We, the Beegrateful team, are determined to solve the looming problem of declining pollinator populations. Pollinator populations are threatened by increasing urbanisation and overuse of pesticides. This is problematic since over one third of all crops in our food system and natural biodiversity largely depend on them. Pollinators, such as bees, struggle to survive in the expanding food deserts we call the city. Therefore, Beegrateful wants to make bees and other pollinators feel more at home in the city by creating food and nesting opportunities in urban areas. We have developed two products, the Mini Bee&Bee that can be hung in every garden or balcony and the second design is the Streetlight Bee&Bee, which is an insect house that can be placed on lampposts around the city!
